Good start to HAF Fun at Castleford RUFC

Yesterday was Day 1 of the 4-week long summer programme at Castleford RUFC as part of the #WFHappyHealthyHolidays project to provide activities, a meal and advice about healthy eating under the government's overall Holidays Activity and Food (HAF) programme.

There were lots of activities and the children, ranging from 5 to 13, showed their abilities and knowledge of ABC (agility, balance, coordination) and DEF (determination, effort, fitness) as they tackled the rugby themed games, the football and multisports and other team activities provided by our team of Castleford RUFC coaches in partnership with GT Sports and Focus Alternative Provision. The kids took on board the advice about the need for good hydration and the fruit snacks freely available during the day and after lunch went down a treat.

We're hoping that the rest of the programme goes well. There are still places available; we're running Monday to Thursday for the next 4 weeks for four hours a day, 9.00-1.00. Booking is through the council's booking app or contact Steve Ball on 07707927090 or
