It was an exciting and very competitive game as Castleford RUFC Girls' U13s hosted Sandal. The ground and weather conditions were ideal for rugby and everyone was treated to a good contest between two very capable sides. Sandal sportingly lent 3 players to the home side to enable a full 12 a side game to take place and the guests played their part fully. Both defences were strong and were able to repel each sides’ attacks with good tackling but Castleford edged the game following successful recycling of the ball and taking their chances on line breaks.
Try scorers were Sophie (2), Dina, Alicja (3) and Jenny. Player of the match was Sereen who was solid in defence.
It was another mix and match game as Castleford RUFC Girls' U15s travelled to Yarnbury to have 2 games against a combined Rotherham and Yarnbury side and Pontefract, Rotherham sportingly lending Cas 4 players to enable a 15 a side to be enjoyed. All the players were rewarded with the chance to play on the AGP and this made for good open rugby. Castleford RUFC Girls played really well with some good structure to their play and some excellently worked tries. The team were congratulated by the referee on the standard of their team play as every one had a good game.
